Rapper Lil Durk is reportedly facing even more serious legal trouble as federal prosecutors prepare to file additional racketeering-related murder charges connected to the 2022 shooting targeting Quando Rondo in Los Angeles.

Lil Durk Pleads Not Guilty to Murder-For-Hire & Gets Trial DateAccording to newly filed court documents dated June 3, prosecutors revealed plans to pursue new charges including Murder in Aid of Racketeering and conspiracy to commit stalking. The filing was submitted as part of the governmentโ€™s effort to keep co-defendant DeAndre Wilson behind bars while the case moves toward trial.

Federal authorities allege that Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, played a role in organizing a murder-for-hire plot aimed at Quando Rondo following ongoing tensions between the two camps.

Lil Durk Pleads Not Guilty to Murder-for-Hire Charges, Gets Trial DateThe deadly incident took place near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles in August 2022. Investigators claim the intended target, Quando Rondo, survived the ambush, but his cousin, Saviayโ€™a โ€œLul Pabโ€ Robinson, was fatally shot during the attack.

Prosecutors say Wilson helped recruit gunmen from Chicago before traveling with them to California. Court filings allege the group tracked Quando Rondoโ€™s movements over two days before multiple shooters opened fire using several weapons, including what authorities described as a machine gun.

Federal prosecutors also argued that Wilson poses a continued threat to the community, noting he was allegedly involved in the Los Angeles shooting while already out on bond in a separate Chicago murder case. Although he was later acquitted in that matter, prosecutors claim his criminal background remains relevant.

One particularly disturbing detail included in the filing references surveillance footage captured shortly after the fatal shooting. Prosecutors allege Wilson and several co-conspirators were seen laughing and ordering food less than an hour after Lul Pabโ€™s death.

Judge orders rapper Lil Durk jailed in L.A. murder-for-hire case - Los Angeles TimesThe filing also appears to connect the current federal investigation to earlier violent incidents tied to Lil Durk. One involves a 2019 Atlanta shooting near the Varsity restaurant, where Durk previously faced charges including attempted murder and gang-related offenses before prosecutors later dismissed the case in 2022.

Another incident mentioned involves the 2022 killing of Stephon Mack outside a community center in Chicago. While unsealed federal documents reportedly linked Durk to the case, he has not officially been charged in Mackโ€™s death.

Meanwhile, Quando Rondo recently transitioned from federal prison to a halfway house in Atlanta after serving part of a sentence related to a marijuana conspiracy case. He previously pleaded guilty to federal drug conspiracy charges and is expected to complete his sentence later this year.

Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty to the federal allegations and remains in custody after a judge denied bond. Prosecutors continue to argue that the rapper presents both a flight risk and a danger to the public.

The high-profile federal case is currently scheduled to go to trial in August 2026.
