An old clip featuring Anna Duggar from the former TLC reality series 19 Kids and Counting is making rounds online again, with viewers pointing out what many are calling a painfully ironic moment given the scandals surrounding her husband, Josh Duggar.
The resurfaced scene, recently shared on TikTok, shows Anna helping care for the younger Duggar children while family patriarchs Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are away. During the episode, Anna prepares breakfast for the children and speaks about the importance of following rules and practicing self-control even when parents are not present.
“I think this is a good opportunity to practice self-control,” Anna says in the clip while trying to manage the children during breakfast.
She later adds in a confessional interview that children often wonder whether the rules still apply when their parents leave the house.
The comments quickly drew renewed attention online because of Josh Duggar’s long history of public scandals, including infidelity controversies and his later criminal conviction involving child sexual abuse material.
Many social media users mocked the clip’s message, arguing that the lecture about discipline and self-control seemed especially ironic considering Josh’s behavior over the years. Several commenters suggested the advice would have been better directed toward her husband rather than the younger Duggar siblings.
Beyond the resurfaced comments, viewers also revisited the Duggar family’s famously criticized cooking habits. The clip showed Anna serving a simple breakfast consisting mainly of toast and sliced apples for the large household.
Online critics once again joked about the family’s meals, referencing other Duggar recipes featured on television over the years, including canned vegetable dishes, tuna casseroles, and the family’s well-known “chicken etti,” a chicken spaghetti casserole that has often been mocked online.
The renewed discussion also brought back memories of Anna’s controversial public support for Josh throughout his scandals. Despite multiple allegations and public controversies involving her husband, Anna repeatedly stood beside him publicly and defended their marriage.
Some fans also recalled a widely discussed moment from the Duggar spin-off series Counting On, where Anna commented that despite relationship struggles, “At least I have a husband,” a quote that continues to generate backlash years later.
Josh Duggar is currently serving a federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2021 on charges involving child sexual abuse material. His projected release date is in 2033.
