Twisted science teacher, 25, charged after 'sexually assaulting student in classroom cupboard and again in car'

According to authorities, 25 year old Maris Nichols, a teacher at Alexander High School in Douglasville, Georgia, was arrested after investigators uncovered allegations involving a student under her supervision.

And the details in the arrest warrants have shocked parents across the community.

Investigators claim the first alleged encounter happened on April 23 inside a closet between classrooms on school grounds. Authorities say a second alleged incident later took place inside a parked Hummer in a residential driveway on May 2.

Nichols is now facing two counts of sexual assault by a person with supervisory or disciplinary authority. Prosecutors say the student involved was under her direct authority as a teacher at the time of the alleged incidents.

The arrest immediately sent shockwaves through the Douglasville community, especially after school officials reportedly warned parents about the investigation before Nichols was taken into custody. The Douglas County School System later released a statement saying it was “deeply troubled” by the allegations and had launched an internal investigation as soon as officials became aware of the accusations.

Since the arrest, Nichols’ information and profile have reportedly been removed from the school’s website, though district officials have not publicly clarified whether she has been terminated or suspended.

What’s making the case spread rapidly online is where the alleged encounters reportedly happened.

A classroom closet.
A vehicle parked in a neighborhood driveway.
And accusations involving someone trusted to supervise students every single day.

Now parents and social media users are asking the same disturbing question:

How long had this allegedly been happening before anyone found out?

Authorities have not publicly revealed how the investigation first began or whether additional students may be involved. Law enforcement officials say the investigation remains ongoing.

Nichols later appeared before a judge, where bond was reportedly set at $40,000. Jail records indicate she has since been released from custody pending future court proceedings.

As the case continues unfolding, it has quickly become another high-profile school scandal fueling growing concerns about student safety, abuse of authority, and hidden misconduct happening behind classroom doors.
