Cardi B is publicly questioning the official explanation surrounding the tragic death of influencer Ashlee Jenae after authorities in Tanzania ruled the case a suicide.
The Miami-based content creator, whose real name was Ashley Robinson, was found dead inside her hotel room in Zanzibar on April 8, just days after celebrating her engagement during what was supposed to be a dream vacation.

According to reports, Tanzanian authorities concluded that the 31-year-old died by suicide by hanging. But the ruling has sparked widespread skepticism online — and now Cardi B is among the high-profile voices openly challenging the narrative.
Reacting to the news on social media, the rapper wrote:
“That girl did not off herself!!!!”
Her comments quickly went viral as thousands of fans and followers echoed similar concerns about the circumstances surrounding Ashlee’s death.
Friends and family members say Ashlee appeared happy and excited about her future shortly before the tragedy unfolded. She had recently celebrated both her birthday and her engagement to fiancé Joe McCann at a luxury resort in Zanzibar.

According to her family, confusion began almost immediately after they were notified of the incident. They claim they were initially told Ashlee suffered from alcohol poisoning before later being informed authorities had ruled her death a suicide.
That sudden shift in explanations has only intensified public suspicion.
In a statement, Ashlee’s parents described the loss as devastating and admitted they are struggling to understand what really happened to their daughter.
“Ashly was deeply loved. She was vibrant, full of life, and had so much ahead of her,” the family said.
They also noted that no suicide note was reportedly found and said the timeline surrounding the events still raises unanswered questions.

Social media has since exploded with theories, speculation, and demands for further investigation. Many users pointed to the timing of her engagement and vacation celebrations as reasons they find the official ruling difficult to believe.
Meanwhile, Tanzanian authorities continue to stand by their findings as international attention surrounding the case grows.
With celebrity voices like Cardi B now amplifying the story, pressure is mounting for additional clarity into what really happened inside the Zanzibar hotel room during Ashlee Jenae’s final hours.
