A lengthy trademark dispute involving Eminem and two stars from The Real Housewives of Potomac is officially stretching into 2027 after a federal trademark board reset the case schedule.

EXCLUSIVE: Eminem Shady Battle With Real Housewives Stretching To 2027 - AllHipHopThe ongoing legal fight centers around the phrase “Reasonably Shady,” the name of a podcast launched by reality television personalities Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant in 2021.

The pair later sought trademark protection for the brand, which prompted opposition from Eminem — whose real name is Marshall Mathers — due to his long-established “Shady” and “Slim Shady” trademarks.

According to newly updated court scheduling orders issued by the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, discovery deadlines and briefing schedules have now been extended deep into 2027, signaling that neither side appears willing to back down.

Eminem Fights Deposition in Trademark Dispute With 'Housewives' StarsEminem’s legal team argues the “Reasonably Shady” trademark could create confusion among consumers, especially because the podcast brand also includes merchandise categories such as clothing and apparel — areas where the rapper already has existing trademark protections connected to his “Shady” identity.

However, attorneys representing Dixon and Bryant strongly disagree.

Their lawyer, Andrea Evans, previously stated that the reality stars “deny any likelihood of confusion” between Eminem’s trademarks and their podcast branding and intend to continue defending their intellectual property rights.

The dispute has also become a source of public entertainment for fans of the Bravo reality franchise. During BravoCon 2025, Robyn Dixon joked publicly about the lawsuit, saying she was shocked to learn Eminem was challenging the trademark application.

Bryant has also commented on the controversy in interviews, dismissing the dispute as unnecessary while noting the podcast has remained successful, reportedly reaching millions of downloads.

Eminem Wants to Stop Real Housewives' 'Shady' Podcast TrademarkAt one point, the legal battle even included disagreements over Eminem’s deposition schedule. Attorneys for Dixon and Bryant attempted to require the rapper to appear for questioning at a specific time in October 2025, but Eminem’s legal team argued he had conflicts tied to music recording and other business commitments.

The trademark board ultimately sided with Eminem on the scheduling dispute, ruling that personal preferences regarding deposition timing were not enough to compel testimony at a specific hour.

Under the updated timeline, discovery in the case is expected to close on June 30, 2026, while trial proceedings and legal briefings will continue through 2026 and into spring 2027. Final reply briefs are reportedly not due until April 2027.

Despite the growing timeline, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board has not yet ruled on which side has the stronger legal claim to the “Shady” branding.

For now, the dispute remains ongoing, with both Eminem and the “Reasonably Shady” hosts continuing to defend their respective trademarks in a battle that may still take years to resolve.
