Sauce Walker and King Harris are defending the controversial collab between Audemars Piguet and Swatch after critics mocked the luxury brand for releasing watches priced around $300.

During a viral livestream, Sauce Walker said he wants to buy “10 of them” immediately, calling the move one of the smartest business decisions AP could make. The rapper admitted he’s spent over $200K on luxury AP watches in the past but barely even wears them anymore. According to him, the cheaper collection doesn’t hurt the brand’s image — it actually helps AP reach a wider audience while fighting back against the massive fake watch market.
Walker also claimed AP recently faced legal issues involving the octagon-shaped design on their watches and lost attempts to fully protect the look through trademark lawsuits. He believes the company realized cheaper alternatives and replicas were already flooding the market, so partnering with Swatch was a strategic way to stay ahead.
Meanwhile, King Harris said he fully supports the collab because it gives younger fans access to a real AP product without spending tens of thousands of dollars. He explained that he’s always been more into colorful G-Shock style watches anyway, and thinks the new AP x Swatch designs feel fun and relatable instead of overly exclusive.
King also pointed out that many people criticizing the release are already wearing fake APs, making the backlash even more ironic. He argued that luxury culture has become more about hype and clout than genuine appreciation for the brands themselves.
The debate surrounding the AP x Swatch collab has exploded online, with some fans calling it genius marketing while others believe it damages the exclusivity of luxury watch culture.
