The family of Kendra Duggar is finally speaking out following the disturbing arrest of her husband, Joseph Duggar, on child molestation charges that have sent shockwaves through the Duggar family once again.
In a lengthy public statement released on April 15, the Caldwell family said they are “troubled and heartbroken” over the allegations against their son-in-law and expressed support for the young girl at the center of the investigation.
Authorities in Florida arrested Joseph Duggar, 31, on March 18 after investigators alleged he sexually abused a 9-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation in Panama City Beach. According to court documents, Joseph allegedly admitted during a phone call with the child’s father and investigators that he touched the victim over her clothing and acknowledged that his intentions “were not pure.”
The Caldwell family praised the alleged victim for her bravery, calling her “courageous in every way to share her truth.”
“We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will,” the family wrote. “Our love for this child remains at the forefront of our family’s priorities and minds.”
At the same time, they also addressed the emotional toll the scandal has had on Joseph and Kendra’s four children, saying the family continues to pray for their strength while asking the public for privacy.
The statement marks the first time Kendra’s relatives have publicly addressed the growing controversy surrounding the former Counting On star and her husband.
Meanwhile, Joseph Duggar continues to face multiple felony charges in Florida involving lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor under the age of 12. He has pleaded not guilty.
In a separate Arkansas case, both Joseph and Kendra Duggar are also facing misdemeanor charges related to child welfare and false imprisonment allegations. Officials have stated those charges are unrelated to the Florida molestation investigation.
The situation has reignited scrutiny around the Duggar family, especially following the earlier conviction of Joseph’s older brother, Josh Duggar, in a federal child sexual abuse material case.
As legal proceedings continue, the Duggar family remains under intense public attention while more relatives begin publicly reacting to the allegations.
