The family of rising singer D4vd is publicly supporting him after prosecutors revealed disturbing new details about the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Los Angeles prosecutors announced that the artist — whose real name is David Anthony Burke — now faces first-degree murder charges with special circumstances, along with additional charges involving alleged acts against a minor and mutilation of a body.

According to prosecutors, the case centers around the alleged killing of Celeste on April 23, 2025, after she visited D4vd’s Hollywood Hills home. Authorities claim he used a sharp instrument to kill the teenager before later mutilating her body.
Investigators allege her dismembered remains were hidden inside the singer’s Tesla for months before eventually being discovered inside two cadaver bags at a Hollywood tow yard in September 2025.
The shocking allegations have sparked outrage online, especially after prosecutors suggested the killing may have been connected to fears that the teen would expose an alleged relationship that could damage the singer’s career.

Despite the severity of the accusations, D4vd’s family says they are standing firmly behind him.
“We are disappointed but not surprised,” family attorney Kent Schaffer said in a statement, insisting the singer maintains his innocence.
District Attorney Nathan Hochman described the allegations as among the most serious charges possible under California law. Prosecutors are still considering whether to seek the death penalty.

The case has already had major consequences for the artist’s career. Interscope Records reportedly dropped D4vd after investigators began examining the case, and the singer later canceled his entire tour as public scrutiny intensified.
D4vd’s legal team continues to deny the allegations, arguing that evidence will ultimately prove he was not responsible for Celeste’s death.
