Although Meghan Markle is one of the most famous women in the world, she still had concerns over her body like anyone else, and a doctor gave her advice over her weight after she joined The Firm.
Prince Harry revealed the couple had sought a consultation with a doctor soon after they tied the knot. It was during this meeting that the professional advised Meghan Markle to gain weight while the pair were trying for a baby.

The Duke of Sussex revealed the royal had shed pounds over stress after their nuptials.

Doctor told Meghan Markle to gain weight
Prince Harry revealed in his bombshell memoir, Spare, about what a doctor said to Meghan Markle over her weight back when the royal couple were trying for their first child.

Harry said that after the royal wedding in 2018, he and Meghan didnโ€™t want to wait before having a baby.

He then went on to say that friends had recommended an ayurvedic doctor to them.

โ€œI donโ€™t recall which category this doctor sorted Meg into, but she did confirm our suspicion that Megโ€™s weight loss might be a barrier to conceiving,โ€ he wrote about Meghan Markle conceiving. The doctor reportedly advised Meghan to gain five pounds. They said that once she did this, sheโ€™d be able to get pregnant.

โ€œSo Meg ate, and ate, and soon put on the recommended five pounds, and we looked hopefully at the calendar,โ€ he wrote.

Meghan, of course, later gave birth to Archie in 2019. In 2021, the couple also welcomed a daughter, Lilibet.

Meghan Markleโ€™s weight went up by 65lbs during each of her pregnancies
The royal also opened up about how each of her pregnancies affected her body on the finale of her second podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder.

While speaking to the founder of shapewear company Spanx about wearing heels, Meghan explained she wore them while pregnant.

Reflecting on her weight, Meghan Markle said: โ€œI gained 65 pounds with both pregnancies.

โ€œA friend just said to me the other day, they were like, โ€˜I just saw this picture Iโ€™d forgotten about when you were so pregnant with Archie.โ€

The royal added she regularly wore โ€˜five-inch pointy-toed stilettosโ€™ while heavily pregnant.

The duchess explained her friend pointed out her โ€˜enormous bumpโ€™ and โ€˜tiny little ankles bracing themselves in these high heelsโ€™.

She added: โ€œSo youโ€™re just going, how on Earth am I not just tipping, you know, face planting? I was clinging very closely to my husband, like, โ€˜Please donโ€™t let me fall.โ€™โ€
