Joseph Duggar is requesting new modifications to the strict no-contact order tied to his ongoing criminal case in Florida, according to newly filed court documents.
Court filings submitted by Joseph’s attorney, Albert J. Sauline III, reveal that Duggar has allegedly been unable to communicate with his four biological children for nearly two months due to the court order.
The motion states that Joseph has not been able to contact his children since his first court appearance in Florida on March 31. Prior to that, he was also unable to speak with them while being held following his March 18 arrest in Arkansas.
His legal team argues that the restrictions are creating “a hardship for the family unit” and is asking the court to allow unsupervised contact specifically with his own children.
In a separate filing, Joseph is also seeking permission to return to several properties he owns that are currently off-limits because of their proximity to the alleged victim’s residence.
According to the motion, the alleged victim and her family have reportedly moved away from the previously listed address, prompting Joseph’s lawyers to request a modification of the restriction.
The filing claims the order is preventing Duggar from maintaining his properties and completing basic tasks such as landscaping, mowing, painting, repairs and removing an old storage shed.
Both motions are reportedly scheduled to be argued in court on June 20.
Joseph’s wife, Kendra Duggar, is also facing separate charges in Arkansas involving child welfare and false imprisonment. Family representatives have stated those charges are unrelated to the Florida case and that Kendra is not accused of participating in the alleged abuse.
The Duggar family scandal continues to attract major public attention as multiple relatives publicly speak about the emotional impact of the ongoing case.
