A violent confrontation on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ended in tragedy after a California man was allegedly beaten and stabbed to death following an encounter with a pit bull.
According to authorities, 37-year-old Berry Henderson was near a bus stop close to Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue on May 20 when a pit bull reportedly chased and bit him in broad daylight.
Surveillance footage reviewed by local media allegedly shows Henderson attempting to defend himself after the dog attacked his legs. Moments later, four men โ including the dogโs owner, according to reports โ allegedly confronted and assaulted him.
Police say the suspects attacked Henderson using punches, weapons and knives during the chaotic incident. Witness footage reportedly captured Henderson attempting to flee while visibly injured before collapsing nearby.
Henderson was rushed to the hospital with multiple stab wounds but later died from his injuries.
Authorities have since arrested four suspects in connection with the deadly attack. Investigators say one suspect allegedly stabbed Henderson multiple times, while others participated in the assault using physical force and weapons.
Loved ones described Henderson as a โgentle giantโ who was known throughout the neighborhood and remembered him as peaceful and kindhearted.
Family members also expressed heartbreak over the lack of intervention from bystanders during the attack.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.
