COMEDIAN Josh Widdicombe is set to become Strictly’s new host alongside TV personality Emma Willis in a move likely to bewilder millions of fans.
The geeky comedian marks a major switch up from previous hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman who announced they would be leaving the show last year.
The Sun has reported Strictly bosses decided a comedian was needed to fill the boots of Claudia Winkleman.
Some fans expected the likes of Alan Carr, Rylan Clark or Bradley Walsh to join the show, but insiders say top bosses view Widdicombe as “posh but relatable” making him an interesting fit for the role.
Josh has hosted live TV shows like The Last One Laughing and The Last Leg making him an experienced incoming host for Strictly.
