Fresh controversy is once again swirling around the British royal family after explosive allegations involving Sarah Ferguson and disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly left senior royals “mortified” behind palace walls.

'Camilla’s furious, she genuinely thought that chapter of royal scandal was finally fading': Queen Camilla is 'mortified' over Fergie and Diddy 'romance'

According to new claims published in Entitled by royal author Andrew Lownie, Ferguson — widely known as Fergie — allegedly had a years-long “friends with benefits” relationship with Combs beginning in 2004.

The allegations have sent shockwaves through royal circles, particularly given the growing global scrutiny surrounding the rapper, who is currently serving a prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on charges related to transporting individuals for prostitution.

While Ferguson’s representatives have strongly denied the claims, reports suggest the mere association has triggered panic and frustration within parts of the monarchy already exhausted by years of scandal.

According to extracts published by the Daily Mail, unnamed sources quoted in the book claimed Ferguson and Combs allegedly met in luxury hotels across several years and maintained a close private connection.

One source alleged: “They’d meet in luxurious hotels. They once stayed at a seven-star hotel that was over £50,000 a night. They spared no expense.”

The claims quickly ignited headlines across British media — and according to insiders, Queen Camilla was particularly appalled by the renewed controversy.

Sarah Ferguson grimacing

A source speaking to Closer claimed senior royals were left stunned that Ferguson’s name had once again become entangled in a major public scandal.

“The sheer volume of stories surfacing about Sarah’s former connections to controversial figures has left senior royals appalled,” the insider alleged.

“People were absolutely aghast when Diddy’s name was thrown into the mix — even hearing Sarah’s name mentioned in the same breath as him has horrified the family.”

The source went on to claim that Queen Camilla believed the monarchy had finally started moving beyond years of damaging royal controversies.

“Camilla’s furious,” the insider claimed. “She genuinely thought that chapter of royal scandal was finally fading into the background.”

The latest allegations come during an already delicate period for the monarchy as King Charles continues balancing public duties alongside ongoing cancer treatment while Prince William reportedly pushes for a slimmer, more carefully controlled royal image focused on protecting the institution’s future.

The situation surrounding Ferguson has become especially sensitive due to her continued proximity to the royal family despite divorcing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor nearly three decades ago.

Although officially divorced since 1996, Sarah Ferguson has remained unusually close to both Andrew and senior members of the royal household. She has continued appearing at royal gatherings and family events over the years, often fueling debate about how fully the monarchy has truly distanced itself from controversial figures tied to Andrew’s circle.

Adding to the controversy, the book reportedly includes further claims suggesting Combs’ 2006 fragrance Unforgivable may have been inspired by Ferguson’s personal tastes and that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie allegedly met the rapper several times during their younger years.

However, Ferguson’s camp has categorically rejected the accusations.

A source close to the Duchess of York told The Telegraph that the allegations were “absolute fabricated nonsense” and accused Lownie of spreading false claims.

“This is absolute fabricated nonsense, blatantly untrue, and yet another false allegation from him,” the source stated.

But the author has refused to back down.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Lownie insisted he stands by the reporting and claimed the information came from sources connected to both Ferguson and Combs’ inner circles.

“I stand by it,” he said. “It’s fully sourced with former employees of P Diddy and Sarah Ferguson.”

Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives for Ferguson have publicly commented further on the escalating controversy.

Still, the damage may already be done.

For a monarchy attempting to modernize and stabilize its image after years of public scandals, the resurfacing of explosive allegations connected to one of the royal family’s most controversial extended figures could not come at a worse time.

And once again, the House of Windsor finds itself facing a familiar problem:

No matter how carefully the palace tries to move forward, old scandals never seem to stay buried for long.
