More than 100 days after Savannah Guthrie’s mother mysteriously vanished from her Arizona home, investigators say they may finally be getting closer to solving the case that has haunted the country for months.

According to authorities, 84 year old Nancy Guthrie disappeared during the early morning hours of February 1 after failing to appear for a scheduled church livestream the next day. When family members checked her home, they allegedly found disturbing signs that something had gone terribly wrong.

Detectives say blood belonging to Nancy was discovered outside the residence, while surveillance footage reportedly captured a masked man lurking near the property around the time she vanished. From that moment on, investigators began treating the case as a possible abduction.

And now, after months of dead ends, Sheriff Chris Nanos says investigators are finally “closer” to answers.

Behind the scenes, authorities have reportedly been combing through DNA evidence, surveillance footage, electronic records, and forensic data in hopes of identifying whoever took Nancy. Officials also believe this may not have been random and suspect she could have been specifically targeted.
